Lane Bryant, an American based apparel line for plus sized women has been breaking down stereotypes for not only fashion but how women see their bodies. The retailer released an untouched photo of plus-size international model Denise Bidot that has taken the internet by storm! Unlike other brands that have notoriously manipulated women’s appearances, this photo has been left showing natural beauty and for once, stretch marks.

Bidot, a 30-year-old native of Puerto Rico and Kuwaiti models for companies such as Zizzi Clothing, Old Navy, Forever 21, Target, Levi’s, Macy’s and Nordstrom. At size 14 she is considered a plus sized model despite being smaller than the average American woman who wears a size 16. One of her biggest claims to fame has been with the recent release of Lane Bryant’s new Escape Collection (above).

Bidot is seen photographed in a printed bikini with a striped over shirt. The nautical theme, though timeless isn’t anything new. But showcasing a woman’s natural beauty, that’s something the fashion industry hasn’t seen until now.

Bidot is proving that she’s not just a beautiful model but a spokeswoman for real beauty. And her message: “being you is what defines real beauty” is going viral.

Bidot is one of the most recognized plus sized models in the world and has become a household name in the fashion industry. Celebrating self-love, confidence, and body acceptance, she continues to spread her message and inspire other women to love their skin.

“My daughter makes me want to work harder, fight with ferocity and walk through this world a courageous woman.” Denise Bidot

In 2014, Bidot rocked the New York Fashion Week in September by becoming the first plus-size model to walk the runway for CHROMAT and HSN (by Serena Williams), both straight-sized brands. Serena Williams personally chose Bidot to be the only plus-size model to star in her show. Even Vogue’s Anna Wintour commemorated her presence at the highly praised fashion event.

May women everywhere learn to love their bodies as courageously and as beautifully as the stunning Denise Bidot!
